Oh Eun-seok
Oh Eun-seok (; born 2 April 1983) is a South Korean retired sabre fencer. He is an Olympic and Asian Games gold medalist in the team event. Early life A native of Daegu, Oh was a former runner and took up fencing in middle school. He attended Osung High School, one of the few high schools in the city with a fencing club. It was not until he enrolled at Dong-Eui University, known for its fencing team, that he decided to turn professional. Career Oh won gold in team sabre and silver in individual sabre at the 2003 Junior World Fencing Championships in Trapani, Italy. He also participated in the Universiade hosted by his hometown and won silver in the individual event. In 2005 he reached the final of the Seoul Grand Prix and was defeated by his rookie national teammate Kim Jung-hwan. Tiberiu Dolniceanu (; born 3 April 1988) is a Romanian sabre fencer, European champion in 2013 and bronze medal in the 2013 World championships. As part of Romania's sabre team, he won the team silver medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics and the team gold medal in the 2009 World Championships in Antalya. Fencing career Junior Dolniceanu began fencing at age 13 under the coaching of Iulian Bițucă at CSM Iași. The absence of his parents, who had gone to work in Italy, pushed him to train hard. Daryl Homer (born July 16, 1990) is an American right-handed saber fencer, three-time Olympian, and 2016 individual Olympic silver medalist. Homer competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Homer is an eight-time team Pan American champion and three-time individual Pan American champion. Personal life Homer was born on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to Juliette Smith and Daryl Homer. Diego Occhiuzzi (born 30 April 1981) is an Italian fencer and olympic medal winner in team sabre competition. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he competed in the Men's sabre where he lost to Áron Szilágyi in the final round to win the silver medal. He was also part of the Italian men's sabre team that won the bronze medal. James Leighman Williams (born September 22, 1985, in Sacramento, California) is an American fencer. College career Williams is a graduate of Columbia University. He fenced for the Columbia Lions fencing team. In his college freshman year, he posted a record of 18–3. Coming into Columbia he was ranked 8th nationally in Junior men's sabre, and 19th in Senior men's sabre. Williams originally began fencing with the Sacramento Fencing Club. After graduating from high school, James moved to New York to attend Columbia University. He graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in United States History and Russian Studies. Zsolt Nemcsik (born 15 August 1977 in Budapest) is a Hungarian sabre fencer. He competed at three Olympic Games. Nemcsik's two greatest accomplishments is winning the silver medal in the 2004 Olympic Games after losing to Aldo Montano in the final, and also winning the gold medal in the 2007 World Fencing Championships after beating France in the final. In 2010 he moved to Frascati, joining the local fencing club. While continuing his career as an athlete, he's now also involved in teaching. Dmytro Boiko ( uk, Дмитро Бойко; born 16 January 1986) is a Ukrainian sabre fencer. Boiko won the silver medal in the sabre team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after losing to France in the final.
