Meltham Railway Station
Meltham railway station is a railway station in Bayswater, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is on the Midland line and Airport line, between Maylands and Bayswater. It is 5.5 kilometres (2.8 mi), or 10 minutes by train, from Perth railway station Services run every 6 minutes during peak and every 7.5 minutes between peak. The station was built during the late 1940s, after first being promised in 1898, and after decades of campaigning by residents and the Bayswater Road Board. The station underwent a refurbishment in 2012. Development of higher density buildings around Meltham station has been a contentious issue since the mid 2010s. Grand Promenade is a 5-kilometre main road in the inner north-eastern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, linking Dianella in the north, with Bayswater in the south. It forms the northern section of State Route 55 connecting with Railway Parade, which it joins onto at its southern terminus. Route description Grand Promenade is part of state route 55 for its entire length. It commences at Morley Drive, in Dianella, traveling south in a straight line through residential areas before terminating at Railway Parade in Bayswater. It is managed by the City of Stirling from the northern terminus to Walter Road, and the City of Bayswater from Walter Road to the southern terminus. Meltham is a town and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, in West Yorkshire, England. It lies in the Holme Valley, below Wessenden Moor, four and a half miles south-west of Huddersfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It had a population of 8,089 at the 2001 census, which was estimated to have increased to 8,600 by 2005. The population assessed at the 2011 Census was 8,534. CircleRoute
The CircleRoute is a pair of circular bus routes operated by Transperth through Perth's suburbs. History The CircleRoute was introduced in two stages. On 16 February 1998 the first stage of the CircleRoute commenced operating between Fremantle and Oats Street stations via Murdoch station. It was operated by Swan Transit with Mercedes-Benz O305 buses in a special livery with purple bands blended into the green blocks of the standard colour scheme, with an elliptical shaped logo featuring two arrows in white. On 22 February 1999, the route was extended to become a 133 stop, 84 kilometre circular route. All four Perth contractors; Path Transit, Perth Bus, Southern Coast Transit and Swan Transit, operated services. Ellenbrook Railway Station, Perth
Ellenbrook railway station is a proposed bus and railway station for the Transperth network. Construction began in January 2022, and is expected to open in 2024 as the terminus of the Morley–Ellenbrook railway line, serving the Perth suburb of Ellenbrook, Western Australia. Station design Ellenbrook station will feature a island platform, half of which will be sheltered. There will be two car parks either side of the station, with a total of 500 car bays. A dedicated bus interchange with 12 bus stands will be constructed as well, providing feeder bus services to nearby suburbs. Other services to be provided at the station are toilets and a kiosk. The station is deliberately going to be built slightly outside the railway alignment so that when the government wants to extend the railway line, a new station can be constructed at Ellenbrook whilst the old one is still in use. Morley–Ellenbrook Line
The Morley–Ellenbrook line is a planned suburban rail service between the Perth central business district and Ellenbrook in Western Australia. Construction began in 2021 as part of Metronet. History A passenger railway through Morley, branching from the Midland line at Bayswater, was included in the 1955 Stephenson-Hepburn Report. However, the government did not incorporate it into the Metropolitan Region Scheme derived from the report when it was adopted in 1963. A rail line to Ellenbrook was first proposed by the Carpenter Government as an election commitment in the lead up to the 2008 election. The then-opposition Liberal Party matched the commitment, and while they continued to express support for some time after winning the election, a feasibility study was cancelled in 2009 and ultimately nothing eventuated. Midland railway station is the terminus of the Midland line in Perth. Western Australia. It is operated by Transperth and is connected with the feeder bus services that utilise the adjacent bus terminal in Midland. History Midland station was opened on 8 October 1968 by Minister for Transport & Railways Ray O'Connor as a replacement for Midland Junction station when the main Eastern Railway was being converted to dual gauge.
