''Melody of Fate'' (german: Melodie des Schicksals) is a 1950 West German drama film directed by Hans Schweikart and starring Brigitte Horney, Viktor de Kowa and Mathias Wieman.Bock & Bergfelder p.150 It was shot at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Franz Schroedter. Synopsis A love triangle develops between the wife of a composer and a celebrated conductor. Otto Gebühr (29 May 1877 – 13 March 1954) was a German theatre and film actor, who appeared in 102 films released between 1917 and 1954. He is noted for his performance as the Prussian king Frederick the Great in numerous films. Early life Born in Kettwig (today part of Essen) in the Rhine Province, the son of a merchant, Gebühr attended the '' gymnasium'' secondary school in Cologne and completed a commercial training. Alongside he took drama lessons and began his acting career at the Görlitz city theatre. Maria Litto
Maria Litto (1919–1996) was a German ballet dancer, choreographer and film actress. In 1970, she pioneered dance programming on German television. Early life Born in Ovenhausen, Höxter, on 9 September 1919, Litto attended the town's primary and secondary schools. From the age of 16, she received training in ballet at the ''Tanzschule Carus'' in Holzminden and, when 18, at the Folkwangschule in Essen.
