Melbourne Airport Rail Link
Melbourne Airport Rail is a rail link under construction from the Melbourne CBD to Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine. Since October 2022 the project has also been branded as SRL Airport. The rail link is to run through the under-construction Metro Tunnel, running 27 km from the airport to Town Hall station, Melbourne, Town Hall station in the city centre with 12 km of new track between the airport and Sunshine railway station, Melbourne, Sunshine station. The link will be a new branch of the Railways in Melbourne, Melbourne Metro rail network and run High Capacity Metro Trains, High-Capacity Metro Trains at a 10-minute frequency. The project is being delivered by the Victorian state government agency Rail Projects Victoria. Southern Cross railway station (until 2005 known as Spencer Street station) is a major railway station in Docklands, Victoria, Docklands, Melbourne. The Tullamarine Freeway (commonly referred to as "The Tulla"), is a major urban freeway in Melbourne, linking Melbourne Airport to the Melbourne city centre, Melbourne City Centre. CityLink is a network of tollways in Melbourne, Australia, linking the Tullamarine, West Gate and Monash Freeways and incorporating Bolte Bridge, Burnley Tunnel and other works.
