Melanie Du Bois
Melanie Cecelia du Bois, is a South African actress. She is best known for the roles in ''Arendsvlei'', ''7de Laan'' and ''Sterk Skemer''. Personal life Du Bois was born in Riverlea, Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2016, she has opened up that she is struggling with bipolar disorder, particularly after the death of her sister and her divorce. On 3 January 2015, her 23-year-old nephew Michael died by hanging himself with his own T-shirt. Michael was the son of Melanie's older sister, Lucia Wilson. On 7 January 2015, struggling with the lost, Lucia later suicide by hanging as well at the age of 46. Career She completed a diploma in Public Relations from the Technikon Witwatersrand. After that, she completed a diploma in Drama from the Trinity College London later did an Associates Teachers Diploma in Drama from the Trinity College London. Florida, Gauteng
Florida is a location in Gauteng province, South Africa. It is located about 16 kilometres west of Johannesburg. The area which is referred to as Florida was originally established as the farm ''Vogelstruisfontein''. Today, it is a suburb of Roodepoort. History ''Vogelstruisfontein'' and the farms ''Roodepoort'' and ''Paardekraal'' were established as mining camps after the discovery of gold in 1881. The suburb was laid out in 1889 and then proclaimed the following year on 14 April 1890 and by 1904 became a suburb of Roodepoort. The Technikon Witwatersrand was a technikon located in Johannesburg, South Africa. On 1 January 2005, it merged with Rand Afrikaans University and the Soweto and East Rand campuses of Vista University to form the University of Johannesburg. The former Vista University East Rand Campus has subsequently been permanently closed. ''Arendsvlei'' () is a South African soap opera. Featuring an almost all-Coloured cast, it premiered on 1 October 2018 as kykNET & Kie's first telenovela. It was originally intended to be a limited series spanning one year, its first season picking up two SAFTAs. ''7de Laan'' is a South African Afrikaans soap opera created by Danie Odendaal and produced by Danie Odendaal Productions. The series focuses on the lives of residents staying in and around the community of 7de Laan (7th Avenue), in the suburb of Hillside. The programme's dialogue is primarily in Afrikaans and is subtitled in English with some English and Zulu dialogue in between. The street and shopfronts which are featured on the opening visuals, are that of Seventh Street in Melville, Johannesburg. History Odendaal originally conceived of the series when he was a resident of the Melville section of Johannesburg. At the time, Odendaal would watch the people of his community over breakfast and a cup of coffee at his favourite coffee shop. He would make up fictitious characters based on what he saw.
