Mekong (TV Series)
''Mekong'' ( th, แม่โขง, ) is a 2023 Thai television soap opera, Thai television series in the genres of action drama, adventure and fantasy. It airs on Channel 7 (Thailand), Channel 7 HD from Monday to Thursday at 8:40 p.m. (Time in Thailand, ICT) for one hour each day. As originally scheduled, it ended on January 2, 2024, but Channel 7 brought the old series ''Samee Chua Kuen'' to air instead for two hours, so the ending date was moved to January 4, 2024 instead. The series based on a 1995 novel by Paul Adirex and a remake of a 2001 series of the same name. The series is a story about searching for American soldiers lost in the Vietnam War, the Phuri tribe, and the mythical serpent Phaya Nak, which is said to be protecting the kingdom. Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist is thrust into a series of events that typically involve violence and physical feats. Khema Withee
Khema ( Pali: Khemā; Sanskrit: Kṣemā) was a Buddhist ''bhikkhuni'', or nun, who was one of the top female disciples of the Buddha. She is considered the first of the Buddha's two chief female disciples, along with Uppalavanna. Khema was born into a royal family in Sagala, modern day Sialkot in Punjab, Pakistan. She was the wife of King Bimbisara of the ancient Indian kingdom of Magadha. Khema was convinced to visit the Buddha by her husband, who hired poets to sing about the beauty of the monastery he was staying at to her. She attained enlightenment as a laywoman while listening to one of the Buddha's sermons, considered a rare feat in Buddhist texts.
