Mehlville School District
The Mehlville School District, officially the Mehlville R-9 School District or Mehlville R-IX School District, is a public school district based in south St. Louis County, Missouri. It serves the unincorporated, census-designated communities of Mehlville, Oakville, Concord, and Lemay. Its offices are presently located on Mehlville High School's campus, with plans to eventually move into a vacant office building just north of the campus. The district formally began with the first graduating class of Mehlville Senior High School in 1930. The district as we know it today first consisted of smaller, independent educational entities working under a feeder school system. Oakville Senior High School
Oakville High School (formerly Oakville Senior High School) is a public comprehensive high school in Oakville, Missouri that is part of the Mehlville R-9 School District. In the 1960s, the district was struggling to keep up with skyrocking enrollments. Because of this, it was decided that a second high school needed to be built. Oakville High School was founded in 1969, originally being housed at the Jefferson Barracks Building in Mehlville until it moved into its present building at 5557 Milburn Road in 1973. The school's colors are black and gold and the school mascot is the Tiger. The school uses similar branding to the University of Missouri Tigers, most notably with Oakville using the Missouri Tigers logo to represent them in athletics. Mehlville High School
Mehlville High School is a public comprehensive high school in Mehlville, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Mehlville R-9 School District. History Early history (1925–1957) The school and surrounding unincorporated community are both named for Charles Mehl, a German-born contractor, whose family moved into a rural area a few miles south of St. Louis, in what is today South St. Louis County. Mehl was given a land-grant in 1846 to acknowledge his service in the Mexican-American War. Mehlville High School was first established in 1925 after parents demanded local secondary education for their children. Previously, teens in the Mehlville- Oakville area had to commute to Hancock Place or Kirkwood.
