''Mehbooba'' is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film produced by Mushir-Riaz and directed by Shakti Samanta. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini and Prem Chopra. The story is based on the reincarnation theme. The music is composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The film is noted for an impressive performance by the lead pair and for its haunting melodies such as the solo song "Mere Naina Sawan Bhadon", sung by both Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, "Chalo Ri" by Lata and the duet song "Parbat Ke Peeche". The plot is based on Gulshan Nanda's novel ''Sisakate Saaz'', and Nanda also wrote the screenplay himself. ''Mehbooba'' ("Beloved") is a 2008 Indian Hindi-language romance film written, produced and directed by Afzal Khan. Mehboob Alam Kotwal (credited as Mehboob Kotwal or simply Mehboob) is a Bollywood film lyricist. He was born in the year 1961 in Bandra West, Mumbai and brought up in Mumbai city of Maharashtra, where he also received his primary education, first in English and later in Urdubr> Career In 1986, Mehboob met music composer Ismail Darbar who played violin in film orchestras those days. It was Darbar who taught him the difference between poetry and film lyrics. Darbar introduced Mehboob to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and he began his song writing career with Varma's 1992 film Drohi whose music was composed by R.D. Burman. He then worked with A.R. Rahman on Varma's Rangeela. Rahman liked his work and introduced him to Mani Ratnam and Mehboob penned the lyrics for the Hindi (dubbed) version of Bombay. Mehboob went on to work with A.R.
