Megan Roberts
Megan Roberts (born November 21, 2000) is a senior elite Canadian artistic gymnast and a member of the Canada National team. She trains at East York Gymnastics, coached by Lawson Hamer and Lisa Cowan. Novice career 2013 Roberts made her debut at the Elite Canada, winning every event except beam, on which she placed sixth. At the Canadian Championships that year, she won vault and floor exercise gold, all-around silver, and placed fourth on bars and fifth on beam. Junior career 2014 Roberts competed at the Elite Canada in February, placing fourth in the all-around, fifth on bars, and sixth on vault. She was named to the Canadian team for the International Gymnix, her international debut, where she won silver with her team and placed ninth in the all-around. She went on to compete at the Junior Pan American Championships, winning team gold and placing fourth in the all-around and on uneven bars. Georgia Gym Dogs
The Georgia Gymdogs (officially the Georgia Bulldogs) is the women's gymnastics team of the University of Georgia. The team is part of NCAA Division I and competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gymdogs compete in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. The Gymdogs lead the nation with 10 NCAA Women's Gymnastics championship titles (including five consecutive wins from 2005–09) and 16 SEC championships. In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it. Gymnastics Balance Beam
The balance beam is a rectangular artistic gymnastics apparatus and an event performed using the apparatus. Both the apparatus and the event are sometimes simply referred to as "beam". The uneven bars or asymmetric bars is an artistic gymnastics apparatus. It is made of a steel frame. The bars are made of fiberglass with wood coating, or less commonly wood. The vault is an artistic gymnastics apparatus which gymnasts perform on, as well as the skill performed using that apparatus. Vaulting is also the action of performing a vault.
