Megalodon Collective
Megalodon Collective (initiated 2014 in Trondheim, Norway) is a jazz septet based in Trondheim, with Norwegian and Swedish musicians. Biography The band members all have a background from the jazz program at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and are sentral on the Trondheim jazz scene. The debut album ''Megalodon'' (2015) was well received with a nomination for the Norwegian grammy, and followed by extensive touring. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. Andreas Skår Winther
Andreas Skår Winther (born 10 April 1991 in Ålesund, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (drums), the younger brother of jazz guitarist Christian Skår Winther (b. 1989), and is known from bands like Megalodon Collective and Left Exit, Mr K. Career Winther is currently studying jazz and improvised music in the jazz program at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and is active in several bands in the jazz and improvisation scene in Norway and Sweden. With the band Left Exit, Mr K, a duo project including Karl Hjalmar Nyberg (saxophones), he released the album ''Left Exit, Mr. K Featuring Michael Duch & Klaus Holm'' (2015). In 2015 he also played on the album ''Megalodon'' by Megalodon Collective. Henrik Drabløs Lødøen (born 20 October 1991 in Brattvåg, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz drummer. Career Lødøen got his diploma from the jazz program at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2015. In Trondheim he started collaborations with a number of the up coming young Norwegian and swedish jazz musicians. Among them are Megalodon Collective, Stig Ulv, DRØM, Rohey, Ósk and Les Casanovas. ''Dagsavisen'' is a daily newspaper published in Oslo, Norway. The former party organ of the Norwegian Labour Party, the ties loosened over time from 1975 to 1999. It has borne several names, and was called ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1923 to 1997. Eirik Hoff Lysholm is editor-in-chief. The newspaper depends on economic support from the Norwegian Government. History ''Dagsavisen'' was established by Christian Holtermann Knudsen in 1884 under the name ''Vort Arbeide'' ('Our Work' in archaic Riksmål), and was affiliated with the trade union center ''Fagforeningernes Centralkomité''. Holtermann Knudsen also had to establish his own printing press since the existing printing presses did not want to be affiliated with a labourer's newspaper. Moldejazz
Molde International Jazz Festival (MIJF) or Moldejazz (established 1961 in Molde) takes place annually in July, and is known as one of the oldest jazz festivals in Europe. It was initiated by the local Storyville Jazz Club. Since 1964 it has received government support, and the government Buddy Award was for several years awarded at this festival. To the extent Molde festival operates with records, is probably the bassist Bjørn Kjellemyr holder of "Most festivals in a row" musicians record. In 2015 he visits Moldejazz for the 17th time in row as performer. Two club gigs with Dag Arnesen's band is on the program for the versatile bassist.
