''Megachile'' (''Megachiloides'') ''chomskyi'' is a species of leafcutter bee found in Texas. It is in the ''oenotherae'' species group. It is likely a Oligolecty, specialist pollinator of plants in the family Onagraceae. Cory S. Sheffield species description, described the species in 2013 and named the specific name (zoology), specific name in honor of Noam Chomsky. Taxonomic history Royal Saskatchewan Museum entomologist Cory S. Sheffield wrote the species description for ''M. chomskyi'' in a 2013 paper in the journal ''ZooKeys''. Sheffield concurrently published the specimen data via GBIF's Integrated Publishing Toolkit. All nineteen of the ''M. chomskyi'' specimens Sheffield based his description on were provided by Jack Neff of the Central Texas Melittological Institute. Neff and Allan W. ''Megachile umatillensis'' is a species of bee in the family Megachilidae. It was described by Mitchell in 1927. Description ''Megachile umatillensis'' is a solitary, robust, non-metallic bee. The basal section of tergum is concave towards the front and is without ridges. The species is black in colour and its dorsal metathorax (metanotum) is almost perpendicular with the rear of its propodeum. The margin at the posterior is roughly straight and it has a broad scutellum. The bee's tubercles and pleura are without carinae (elevated ridges). It has linear notaulices.
