Meerane Station
Meerane station is a railway station on the Glauchau–Gößnitz railway. Meerane station is the only station in the town of Meerane in the German state of Saxony. The station is now served by Regionalbahn and Regional-Express services on the Mid-Germany Connection (''Mitte-Deutschland-Verbindung''). Freight transport facilities no longer exist. History Meerane station has existed since the opening of the line on 15 November 1858. The station building was completely rebuilt in 1940/41. The historicised facade decoration was replaced by smooth plaster surfaces. Deutsche Reichsbahn's electrification program reached Meerane station in May 1984. Only a single track was electrified as an economy. After German reunification in 1990, Meerane station was also stop for express, D and InterRegio trains for a short time. Meerane
Meerane () is a town in the Zwickau district of Saxony, Germany. It lies midway between the towns of Altenburg and Zwickau, west of Chemnitz. As of 31 December 2015, there were 14,851 inhabitants. The population has declined from a peak of over 26,000 in the 1940s. Meerane was once important for the manufacture of woollen and mixed cloths; associated industries such as dyeworks, tanneries and machine factories were also located there. Hohenstein-Ernstthal Station
Hohenstein-Ernstthal station is the railway station of Hohenstein-Ernstthal in the south west of the German State of Saxony. The station is classified as a category 5 station by DB Station&Service and has two platform tracks. It is served daily by about 85 trains and is located on the Dresden–Werdau railway. The train station is served only by regional and local trains. History The station, which is located at line-kilometre 98.23 of the Dresden–Werdau railway, was opened on 15 November 1858. At first, the station was in neither Hohenstein nor Ernstthal, but in Oberlungwitz in the district of Abtei. The station site was later purchased by Hohenstein. Glauchau (; hsb, Hłuchow) is a town in the German federal state of Saxony, on the right bank of the Mulde, 7 miles north of Zwickau and 17 miles west of Chemnitz by rail ( its train station is on the Dresden–Werdau line). Glauchau (Sachs) Station
Glauchau station is the main station of Glauchau in southwest of the German state of Saxony on the Dresden–Werdau line. Glauchau also has another station at Glauchau-Schönbörnchen. History On 15 November 1858, the Chemnitz-Zwickau section of the Dresden–Werdau line was opened together with Glauchau station. The line was built the support of the Saxon government and eventually became part of the Royal Saxon State Railways. The station originally had seven 680 m-long station tracks with a total of 35 sets of points.
