Mecidiyeköy
Mecidiyeköy is a heavily built-up residential and business neighbourhood in the Şişli district of Istanbul, Turkey squeezed in between the Fulya, Kuştepe, Gültepe, Esentepe, and Gülbahar neighbourhoods. In 2021 its estimated population was 23,760. Mecideiyeköy means "Mecid's Village" in Turkish, a name it acquired because it was during the reign of the Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid I that it started to be settled. Busy Halaskargazi Street runs through Şişli to Mecidiyeköy where it intersects with the D100 motorway. The Şişli-Mecidiyeköy Metro stop on the M2 line stops near this chaotic intersection, connecting the area with Taksim and Yenikapı. It also connects with the newer Mecidiyeköy station on the M7 Metro line to Mahmutbey. One exit from the Şişli-Mecidiyeköy Metro leads straight to the huge Cevahir shopping mall, which was, when it opened, the largest such mall in Europe. M7 (Istanbul Metro)
The M7, officially referred to as the M7 Kabataş–Mahmutbey metro line ( tr, M7 Kabataş–Mahmutbey metro hattı) is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro system on the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. On 20 December 20, 2013, the line was commissioned to Kalyon Group for construction. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 9 February 2014. The line is long with 19 stations. The line is divided into three phases. Currently, it is partly in service. The section between Mecidiyeköy and Mahmutbey was inaugurated on 28 October 2020. The Istanbul Metro ( tr, İstanbul metrosu) is a rapid transit railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. Şişli () is one of the 39 districts of Istanbul, Turkey. Located on the European side of the city, it is bordered by Beşiktaş to the east, Sarıyer to the north, Eyüp and Kağıthane to the west, and Beyoğlu to the south. Metrobus (Istanbul)
The Metrobus ( tr, Metrobüs) is a bus rapid transit route in Istanbul, Turkey. The system has 45 stations that follow the city's ring road via Avcılar, Zincirlikuyu and the Bosphorus Bridge to Söğütlüçeşme using dedicated bus lanes for almost the entire length the route. The busway, the first section of which opened in 2007 after two years of construction, is used by a number of Metrobus lines which operate within a ‘closed’ system carrying 1 million people daily.
