County Monaghan
County Monaghan ( ; ga, Contae Mhuineacháin) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Ulster and is part of Border strategic planning area of the Northern and Western Region. It is named after the town of Monaghan. Monaghan County Council is the local authority for the county. The population of the county was 61,386 according to the 2016 census. The county has existed since 1585 when the Mac Mathghamhna rulers of Airgíalla agreed to join the Kingdom of Ireland. Following the 20th-century Irish War of Independence and the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty, Monaghan was one of three Ulster counties to join the Irish Free State rather than Northern Ireland. Paul McQuade (born 17 May 1987) is a Scottish former footballer who plays as a striker. Career Raith Rovers McQuade started his professional career at Raith Rovers but never made a reserve team appearance. He was released at the end of the 2004/05 season and had a spell playing Junior football with Dundonald Bluebell. Marjorie McQuade
Marjorie Anne McQuade (16 July 1934 – 10 October 1997), later known by her married name Marjorie Bennett, was a competition swimmer who represented Australia at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London and the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. At the 1950 British Empire Games in Auckland, New Zealand, McQuade was one of the standout performers for Australia, winning three gold medals. Individually, she won the women's 110-yard freestyle, and was a member of the winning Australian women's teams in the 4×110-yard freestyle relay and the 3×110-yard medley relay. Marian McQuade (January 18, 1917 – September 26, 2008) was the founder of National Grandparents Day. She served on the West Virginia Commission on Aging and the Nursing Home Licensing Board. For many years, she helped with the Past 80 Party, which was held annually in Richwood, WV. Jim Comstock, editor of 'The News Leader' and the West Virginia Hillbilly, originated the Past 80 Party.
