Tania Campbell
Tania Lynette Campbell (born 1967) is a South African Democratic Alliance politician who is serving as the Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, as of 8 November 2022. She had previously served for 11 months from November 2021 until her removal in a motion of no confidence in October 2022. Early life Campbell attended Germiston Technical College. She went on to study human rights and executive municipal leadership with a focus on budgetary principles and performance management at the University of Pretoria. Political career Campbell joined the Democratic Alliance in 1997 and became a councillor in 2000 when the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality was established. Germiston, also known as kwaDukathole, is a small city in the East Rand region of Gauteng, South Africa, administratively forming part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since the latter's establishment in 2000. Duma Moses Nkosi (7 June 1957 – 16 December 2021) was a South African politician who was the mayor of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality from 2001 to 2008, succeeded by Lentheng Helen Mekgwe. Ntombi Lentheng Mekgwe is a South African politician who has been Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2014. Before that, she was a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) in the Gauteng provincial government from 2010 to 2014 and the third Mayor of Ekurhuleni from 2008 to 2010. She is a member of the African National Congress (ANC). Born on Gauteng's East Rand, Mekgwe was Mayor of Nigel from 1995 to 2000 and then served as Speaker of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Council from 2001 to 2008. Mondli Gungubele (born 1 February 1957) is a South African politician, trade union leader and educator who is the current Minister in the Presidency and a member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the African National Congress.
