Mayday (single Album)
''Mayday'' is the second single album by the South Korean boy group Victon. It was released on June 2, 2020 by Play M Entertainment and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. Background and release The single album was released three months after their previous comeback, '' Continuous''. The group promoted the single album for two weeks on South Korean music shows, including ''The Show'' and ''Inkigayo''. Following the end of the comeback, the group held a virtual concert, ''2020 Victon Ontact Live: Mayday'', in July. Commercial performance Upon release the single album ranked first in the Hanteo daily album rankings, and it sold 95,560 copies in South Korea in 2020. The album debuted at number three on the Gaon Weekly album chart, and at number eight on the monthly chart. The title track "Mayday" debuted at number 5 on the Gaon Download chart, and its music video surpassed 10 million views in four days. Victon
Victon ( ko, 빅톤; stylized as VICTON, an acronym for Voice to New World) is a South Korean boy group formed in 2016 by IST Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Han Seung-woo, Kang Seung-sik, Lim Se-jun, Do Han-se, Choi Byung-chan and Jung Su-bin. They debuted on November 9, 2016, with their extended play ''Voice to New World''. Originally a septet, Heo Chan left the group on October 11, 2022. History Pre-debut Members Chan, Seungwoo, Seungsik and Byungchan joined A Cube Entertainment in 2014 and were among the company's first batch of male trainees. Hanse and Sejun joined a year later, followed by last-minute addition, former Cube Entertainment trainee Subin. ''Inkigayo'' ( ko, 인기가요; English title: ''The Music Trend'', previously ''Popular Song'') is a South Korean music program broadcast by SBS. It airs live every Sunday. The show features some of the latest and most popular artists who perform on stage. It is broadcast from the SBS Open Hall in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. History ''Inkigayo'' debuted as ''SBS Popular Song'' in 1991 as a chart show, but was canceled in fall 1993 because it was replaced by TV Gayo 20 (TV 가요20). It was later revived in 1998 with its original title and format. In 2003, the chart format was removed and was replaced by ''Take 7'', where seven of the most popular artists from the week are featured and the most popular artist receives the award for ''Mutizen Song''. Gaon Music Chart
The Circle Chart (), previously known as the Gaon Music Chart or the Gaon Chart (), tabulates the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in South Korea. It is produced by the Korea Music Content Association and sponsored by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Founded in 2010. History Gaon Chart was launched in February 2010 by the Korea Music Content Association, under the sponsorship of the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the aim to create a domestic national chart similar to the ''Billboard'' charts of the United States and the Oricon charts of Japan. The Circle Album Chart, previously known as the Gaon Album Chart, is a record chart ranking the 100 most popular albums, extended plays and single albums in South Korea based on their Record sales, pure sales. It is a part of the Circle Chart, previously known as the Gaon Chart. It compiles shipments in weekly, monthly and year-end format with detailed album sales. History The Gaon Album Chart was launched as a part of the Gaon Chart in February 2010 by Korea Music Content Association and South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Do Han-se ( ko, 도한세, born September 25, 1997), also known mononymously as Hanse, is a South Korean rapper, singer and songwriter. He debuted as a member of South Korean group Victon in 2016. He debuted with his solo album ''Blaze'' on September 25, 2021. Han Seung-woo ( ko, 한승우, born December 24, 1994), known mononymously as Seungwoo, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer and actor. He debuted as a member of South Korean group Victon in 2016. In 2019, he finished third on ''Produce X 101'' and became a member of X1. He debuted as a solo artist in August 2020 with the extended play '' Fame''. Career Early life Han was born on December 24, 1994, in Busan, South Korea.
