Max Brown (rugby League)
Max Brown (born 23 December 1946 in Lilyfield, New South Wales) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played for the Canterbury Bankstown and Manly-Warringah in the New South Wales Rugby League. Brown played 128 games over a nine-year career, winning the 1972 and 1973 premierships with Manly. His position of choice was on the . Brown was also the founder of the Men of League foundation in 1999. Career Canterbury-Bankstown Brown, a goal kicking winger, was a Canterbury-Bankstown junior and made his first grade debut in 1966. He was the Berries (as the Bulldogs were then known) top try scorer in 1967 scoring 10 tries, but injury kept him out of the teams finals campaign, which famously included stopping the St. George Dragons in the preliminary final, ending the Dragons bid for a 12th straight premiership. Lilyfield, New South Wales
Lilyfield is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Lilyfield is located 6 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Inner West Council. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. Canterbury-Bankstown is a customary region of Sydney, Australia, in the south-western suburbs. Ian Schubert
Ian 'Shoey' Schubert (born 22 August 1956) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He later became chief salary cap auditor for the National Rugby League. An Australian international representative player, Schubert had a long club career which began with a sensational opening season for Eastern Suburbs, before fading out and re-inventing himself with Manly-Warringah and Western Suburbs so well that he regained his Australian jumper after having been in reserve grade a year prior. By the time his career closed Schubert had played 269 first grade games, which stood as the third highest in the history of the NSWRFL. In 1982, Schubert was a member of the 1982 Kangaroo tour, the team being the first to go through Great Britain and France undefeated, earning themselves the nickname " The Invincibles". The National Rugby League (NRL) is an Australasian rugby league club competition which contains clubs from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand. The NRL formed in 1998 as a joint partnership between the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and media giant News Corporation-controlled Super League, in the aftermath of the 1990s Super League war, in which both ran parallel to each other in 1997. Ron Coote AM (born 1944) is an Australian former representative rugby league player whose club career was played with South Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, with both of whom he won premierships. He is considered one of the nation's finest footballers of the 20th century. Craig Wing (born 26 December 1979), also known by the nickname of "Wingy", is an Australian-born former professional rugby league and rugby union footballer. Andrew "ET" Ettingshausen (born 29 October 1965) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. He played his first grade Australian club football for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, retiring at the end of the 2000 NRL season having played 328 first grade games for the club, the NSWRL/ARL/SL/NRL record for most games at a single club. This record stood for ten years, before ultimately being broken by Darren Lockyer for the Broncos in 2010. Michael Arthur Cleary Order of Australia, AO (born 30 April 1940) is an Australian former rugby union and rugby league and footballer of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and politician.
