Maung Maung
Maung Maung ( my, မောင်မောင် ; 11 January 1925 – 2 July 1994) was the seventh president of Burma, and a well-known writer. Early life and career Maung Maung was born on 11 January 1925 in Mandalay, Upper Burma, British Burma. He is the son of lawyer U Sint and his wife Aye Tin. He graduated from BTN High School. He attended the fourth intake of the Japan Academy. In 1946, he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Rangoon University. In 1949, he received a Bachelor of Law (BL) degree. He was a lecturer in the English department in Rangoon University, editor of the Burma Khit Newspaper, and Assistant Secretary of Burma Railways. In 1950, he received a scholarship to study in the UK. He entered the Lawyers' Association opened in Lincoln Guest House, Hague. He attended the international Law education school there. Phaungkaza Maung Maung
Phaungkaza Maung Maung ( my, ဖောင်းကားစား မောင်မောင် ; 15 September 1763 – 11 February 1782) was the fifth king of the Konbaung Dynasty of Burma, whose reign lasted six days. Maung Maung, the eldest son of Naungdawgyi, the second king of the Konbaung Dynasty, and Chief queen Shin Hpo U. He was granted the appenage of Phaungga in fief. On 5 February 1782, the 18-year-old Prince of Phaungka pretended to be a king and entered the palace and seized the throne while his cousin King Singu pilgrimaging to Anyar Thiha Taw Pagoda. Phaungkaza Maung Maung was the shortest lived king among the Konbaung Kings. His uncle Prince of Badon (later King Bodawpaya) quickly came to palace and deposed him on 11 February 1782. Maung Maung ( my, မောင်မောင်; born 2 October 1952) is a Burmese trade unionist. During his studies, he earned a Bachelor of Science in geology. National Council of the Union of Burma Maung Maung, General Secretary of the National Council of the Union of Burma (NCUB), is a key leader in the Burmese pro-democracy movement. Working from the Thai-Burmese border, Maung Maung coordinates the efforts of a broad coalition of pro-democracy groups, including the Members of Parliament Union (MPU), National League for Democracy-Liberated Area (NLD-LA), National Democratic Front (NDF), and Democratic Alliance of Burma (DAB). Since 1990, the NCUB has led efforts to coordinate and plan for a democratic future for Burma. Maung Maung’s is involved in a participatory constitution-drafting process, including groups inside and outside Burma.
