Matthew Thomas Robinson Jr. (January 1, 1937 – August 5, 2002) was an American actor, writer and television producer. Robinson was the first actor to portray the character of Gordon Robinson on the PBS children's TV program ''Sesame Street''. When ''Sesame Street'' began in 1969, not only did Robinson play Gordon, but he also provided the voice of the puppet Roosevelt Franklin and was one of the show's producers. He left the show in 1972. In later years, when producers needed a last name for the Gordon character, then played by Hal Miller and later Roscoe Orman, they used Matt's last name. He wrote and produced the films ''Save the Children'' and ''Amazing Grace'' in the early 1970s, and authored scripts for '' Sanford and Son'' and ''Eight Is Enough''. In 1983, he joined the staff of the NBC's ''The Cosby Show'' as a producer and staff writer. Matthew James Robinson (born 12 November 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for National League club Woking. He is also an MC, making music under the name Kamakaze. He played in the Football League for Luton Town and has played for Kidderminster Harriers, Grimsby Town and Woking on loan, before spending seven years at Dagenham & Redbridge. He was also capped at England C level in 2022. Matthew Robinson, 2nd Baron Rokeby (Baptised, York 12 April 1713 – 30 November 1800), FRS, was an English landowner, politician and nobleman. In later life, he was considered an eccentric. Early life Lord Rokeby was born Matthew Robinson in a large family from Yorkshire. His parents were Matthew Robinson (1694–1778) of Edgely and West Layton, Yorkshire, and Elizabeth, daughter of Robert Drake of Cambridge; his sisters included the novelists Elizabeth Montagu and Sarah Scott. Of his six brothers, Thomas the second was known as a legal writer, William the fifth as a cleric, and the youngest, Charles, as a Member of Parliament. Matt Robinson (born 9 March 1990) is a New Zealand rugby league footballer who plays for the Burleigh Bears in the Intrust Super Cup. His choice of position is Second-Row. Mat Robinson (born June 20, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Robinson played professionally from 2009 to 2022, most notably in the KHL, with CSKA Moscow with whom he won the Gagarin Cup Championship in 2019. He also played in the KHL with Dinamo Riga, and SKA Saint Petersburg. Robinson was named to the Canada men's national ice hockey team for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, where he won a bronze medal. Matthew John Robinson (24 October 1985 – 21 February 2014) was an Australian Paralympic snowboarder who died as a result of a snowboarding accident at La Molina, Spain. Personal Robinson was born 25 October 1985. He was the youngest son of Stephen and Carol Ann. His siblings were Tracy and Jarrod. At the time of his death his fiancée was Gecel and he lived in Melbourne, Victoria. Snowboarding Robinson had an arm impairment and competed in the upper limb classification. Matthew Gillette Robinson (born June 28, 1955) is a former professional American football player, a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) from 1977–1982 for the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, and Buffalo Bills. He was later with the Jacksonville Bulls and Portland Breakers of the United States Football League (USFL) in 1984 and 1985, respectively. College Robinson played college football at the University of Georgia under head coach Vince Dooley. His sophomore season in 1974 was his first as a starter and he led the Bulldogs to a 6–6 record. He is best known for winning a silver medal in the 1936 Summer Olympics, where he broke the Olympic record in the 200 meters but still finished behind Jesse Owens (like Jesse Owens, Robinson was an African-American). Matthew Robinson (born 27 July 1944) is a British-Cambodian television and film executive producer, producer, director and writer. After graduating from Cambridge University. he directed many hundreds of episodes of popular British television dramas and soap operas in the 1970s and 1980s. He became the first producer (and later became the executive producer) of the series ''Byker Grove'' (1989–1997), and was also made the executive producer of ''EastEnders'' (1998–2000). As a player, he was a full back who notably played in the Premier League for Southampton, before switching to rivals Portsmouth.
