Matthew Parr (born 17 July 1986) is a British racing driver from Horsham, West Sussex who currently competes in Formula Ford 1600. Career Matthew Parr starting racing go-karts aged 8. In 2008 he moved up to race in Formula Ford 1600 with Team West-Tec finishing 2nd in the Formula Ford M/S Championship. In the same year he also competed in the Formula Ford Festival, the Walter Hayes Trophy and came second in the 2008 Powernights Event. Team West-Tec F3 is a motor racing team owned by Gavin Wills and John Miller based in Corby in the United Kingdom, the most successful team in the history of the European F3 Open Championship, it also won two drivers championships in the ASCAR Racing Series. British Formula Ford Championship
The British Formula Ford Championship was an entry level single seater motor racing category, designed to give racing drivers their first step into car racing after karting. Drivers from around the world were attracted to the United Kingdom to compete in the series, and successful Formula One drivers such as Ayrton Senna and Jenson Button won their first single-seater titles in the championship. The championship was run to various Formula Ford regulations over the years, based on the engines provided for the championship by Ford Motor Company. These engine based regulations/specifications include the Ford Kent engine, Ford Zetec engine, Ford Duratec engine and in the final years the Ford EcoBoost engine. Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. The Formula Ford Festival is an annual meeting of Ford-powered single-seat racing cars which is held at the end of the British racing season, at the Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in the county of Kent, in Southern England.
