Matthew Friedman (film Editor)
Matthew Friedman is an American film editor and senior lecturer at the AFI Conservatory. He won the American Cinema Editors, American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for best feature film editing for his work on Palm Springs (2020 film), ''Palm Springs'', which broke the existing Sundance Film Festival, Sundance film sales record by sixty-nine cents. Friedman was nominated for the ACE Eddie the previous year as well for ''The Farewell (2019 film), The Farewell,'' his third collaboration with director Lulu Wang (filmmaker), Lulu Wang, His credits also include ''John Tucker Must Die'', ''What Happens in Vegas'', ''Step Up Revolution'', and ''Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel''. AFI Conservatory
The AFI Conservatory is a private not-for-profit graduate film school in the Hollywood Hills district of Los Angeles. Students (called "Fellows") learn from the masters in a collaborative, hands-on production environment with an emphasis on storytelling. The Conservatory is a program of the American Film Institute founded in 1969. History The Center for Advanced Film Studies (later the AFI Conservatory) opened its doors at Greystone Mansion on September 23, 1969. Harold Lloyd screened his film '' The Freshman'' and spoke with AFI Fellows on the school's very first day. The first class included Terrence Malick, Caleb Deschanel and Paul Schrader. ''Dragonball Evolution'' is a 2009 American science fantasy superhero-martial arts film directed by James Wong, produced by Stephen Chow, and written by Ben Ramsey. Founded in 1950, American Cinema Editors (ACE) is an honorary society of film editors that are voted in based on the qualities of professional achievements, their education of others, and their dedication to editing. Members use the post-nominal letters "ACE". The organization's "Eddie Awards" are routinely covered in trade magazines such as ''The Hollywood Reporter'' and ''Variety''. Charles Stone III
Charles Stone III (born 1966) is an American film director. He is best known for ''Drumline'' starring Nick Cannon, '' Mr. 3000'' starring Bernie Mac, and '' Paid in Full''. Stone directed the video to " What They Do" by The Roots, featuring the group running through many rap video clichés. Stone is the creator of the popular advertising campaign "Whassup?" for Budweiser in 1999.
