Baron Muskerry
Baron Muskerry is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1781 for Sir Robert Deane, 6th Baronet. He had previously represented County Cork in the Irish House of Commons. His great-grandson, the fourth Baron, sat in the House of Lords as an Irish Representative Peer from 1892 to 1929. On the death in 1954 of his younger son, the sixth Baron, this line of the family failed. The late Baron was succeeded by his first cousin once removed, the seventh Baron. He was the son of the Hon. Hastings Fitzmaurice Deane, third son of the third Baron. the titles are held by his grandson, the ninth Baron, who succeeded his father in 1988. Lord Muskerry lives in South Africa. The Deane Baronetcy, of Muskerry in the County of Cork, was created in the Baronetage of Ireland in 1710 for the first Baron's great-great-grandfather Matthew Deane. Sir Matthew Deane, 3rd Baronet
Sir Matthew Deane, 3rd Baronet (c. 1680 – 11 March 1747) was an Irish baronet and politician. He was the son of Sir Robert Deane, 2nd Baronet of Muskerry and Springfield Castle, Co. Limerick by his wife Anne Brettridge, one of the three daughters and co-heiresses of Captain Roger Brettridge (1630-1683) of Castles Brettridge, Cope and Magner, Co. Cork and his wife Jane Hakby. Another source has his wife as Anne Bettridge, daughter of Colonel William Bettridge. He succeeded to the baronetcy in 1712. He served as High Sheriff of County Cork for 1714 and sat in the Irish House of Commons for Charleville from 1713 to 1715. He was again a Member of Parliament (MP) for County Cork from 1728 until his death in 1747. Deane married Jane Sharpe, only daughter of Reverend William Sharpe. Sir Matthew Deane, 4th Baronet
Sir Matthew Deane, 4th Baronet (c. 1706 – 10 June 1751) was an Irish baronet and politician. He was the eldest son of Sir Matthew Deane, 3rd Baronet and his wife Jane Sharpe, only daughter of Reverend William Sharpe. In 1747, he succeeded his father as baronet. Deane sat in the Irish House of Commons for Cork City from 1739 until his death in 1751. He married Salisbury Davis, daughter of Robert Davis. Matthew T. "Matt" Dean (born April 15, 1966) is an American politician. He served as the Majority Leader of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represented District 38B, which included portions of Ramsey and Washington counties in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area.
