Matteo Biffoni (born 19 May 1974 in Prato) is an Italian politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party and he was elected member of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy in 2013. He served as President of the Province of Prato from 2014 to 2018 and has served as Mayor of Prato since 26 May 2014. The Mayor of Prato is an elected politician who, along with the Prato's City Council, is accountable for the strategic government of Prato in Tuscany, Italy. The current Mayor is Matteo Biffoni, a member of the Democratic Party, who took office on 28 May 2014. Overview According to the Italian Constitution, the Mayor of Prato is member of the City Council. The Mayor is elected by the population of Prato, who also elect the members of the City Council, controlling the Mayor's policy guidelines and is able to enforce his resignation by a motion of no confidence.
