Matthew Taylor Williams is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. Williams pitched in for the Milwaukee Brewers, throwing 9 innings over 11 games. A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Williams attended Floyd E. Kellam High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1991, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham A's of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Williams was originally drafted in the 4th round of the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft by the Cleveland Indians. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
