Matt McCoy (rugby League)
Matt McCoy (20 December 1923 – 20 February 2007) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s, and an inductee of the St. George Illawarra Dragons Hall of Fame. An Australian international and New South Wales interstate representative goal-kicking centre, he played in Sydney's New South Wales Rugby Football League for the St. George club, with whom he won the 1949 NSWRFL Premiership. McCoy also played for Sydney's Eastern Suburbs club, and in Country New South Wales and Queensland as a captain-coach, representing both City and Country New South Wales, as well as Central Queensland during his career. Wolumla, New South Wales
Wolumla is an historical locality in New South Wales, Australia located 234km south of Canberra, between Bega and Merimbula. Wolumla is located on the hilly coastal hinterland near the headwaters of Frogs Hollow Creek, and has been predominantly cleared for beef, dairy and sheep grazing. At the , Wolumla had a population of 703. Wolumla receives a small tourist influx during peak holiday periods. The township consists of predominantly low-density urban housing with a very small commercial area located on the main street. Gold was discovered very near the town in 1896. 1949 NSWRFL Season
The 1949 New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership was the forty-second season of Sydney's top-level professional rugby league football club competition, Australia's first. Ten teams from across the city contested the premiership during the season which culminated in a grand final between St. George and South Sydney. Season summary St. George winger Ron Roberts’ 25 tries during 1949 stands in third place behind Les Brennan's 29 in 1954 and Bob Lulham’s 28 in 1947 for the highest number of tries by a player in a debut season. Queensland Rugby League Central Division
The Central Division of the Queensland Rugby League is responsible for the promotion, administration and facilitation of rugby league throughout most of regional Queensland. Regional areas include the Darling Downs, Wide Bay–Burnett, the South West, the Central West, and Fitzroy & Mackay. The Division was formed in 2010 as part of an amalgamation between the then Central, South West and Wide Bay divisions. Shortly after the amalgamation three Regions of Central Rugby League were established. Jubilee Stadium, also known as Kogarah Oval or by its sponsored name Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, is a multipurpose stadium in Carlton, New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. The stadium is mainly used for rugby league and the A-League, and is one of the home grounds of the National Rugby League (NRL) team St. George Illawarra Dragons. Leeton is a town located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. Test Match (rugby League)
A test match in rugby league football is a representative match between teams representing members of the Rugby League International Federation. The definition of a test match differs from that of an international match. An international match can be played "between senior/open age or restricted age-level teams from different countries". Recognition Members of the international governing body can make their own recognition of a match as having test status. It is possible for a match to be considered a test by one side but not the other. Matches may also be given test status retrospectively by their governing bodies. A notable instance of a different in opinions of the status of past matches is a consequence of the Super League war.
