Matthew Clarke (runner)
Matthew Clarke (born 29 April 1995) in Melbourne, Australia is an Australian Olympic athlete who competes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Early years Clarke enjoyed long distance running as a child but gave it up in year 8. After finishing school at the age of 19 he found the motivation to return. By the time he was 20 he was running around 3:49 (1500m) and 8:32 (3000m) whilst still studying Podiatry at La Trobe University. Three years later he ran 3:44 over 1500m when he came ninth at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games trials. In June 2018, Clarke travelled to the US as a guide for Paralympian Jaryd Clifford. He raced as well and clocked a PB in the 1500m at Portland. Clarke works as a Sports Podiatrist at the Sports and Arthritic clinic (SPARC) in Mile End, SA. He is coached by Adam Didyk as a member of ASICS Team Tempo elite. Clarke lives with his fiancé Annabel Kitto who is also a 1500m track runner. Clarke studied Podiatry at La Trobe University. Matthew Paul Clarke (born 18 December 1980) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He started his professional career in 1998 with Wolverhampton Wanderers but was released after his first full season as a pro and without making a first team appearance. He went on to play for Halifax Town, from where he spent short loans at Gainsborough Trinity and Frickley Athletic, and Darlington before signing for Bradford City in 2006. He remained with The Bantams until 2010 before joining Maltese Premier League side Hibernians; during a three-year spell in Malta Clarke also played for Msida Saint-Joseph and Marsaxlokk. After his return to England he had a short spell with Conference North club Guiseley. Matthew John Clarke (born 3 November 1973 in Sheffield) is an English former football goalkeeper. Club career Clarke's first club was Rotherham United, where his nickname was Matt the Cat, in reference to his agility. He won the 1996 Football League Trophy with Rotherham. He then signed with Sheffield Wednesday where he served as cover to Kevin Pressman. He joined Bradford City after they won promotion to the Premier League in 1999 and helped Bolton Wanderers two years later into the Premier League, playing in the play-off final. Matthew Gerard Clarke, Lord Clarke was a Senator of the College of Justice, a judge of the Supreme Courts of Scotland, sitting in the High Court of Justiciary and the Inner House of the Court of Session.
