"Matilda" is a song by British rock band alt-J from their debut studio album ''An Awesome Wave'', released on 10 January 2012 as a digital download. It was released as a split single with "Fitzpleasure" on 24 February as a digital download and on 10" triangle shaped vinyl. It was written by Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton, Gwilym Sainsbury and Thom Green and produced by Charlie Andrew. The song relates to the movie ''Léon'', specifically the relationship between the main character (a hitman) and a young girl called Mathilda. The band would later release the song "Leon", a tribute to the main character of the film. Alt-J (stylised as alt-J, real name Δ) are an English indie rock band formed in 2007 in Leeds. Their lineup includes Joe Newman (guitar/lead vocals), Thom Sonny Green (drums), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboards/vocals), and formerly Gwilym Sainsbury (guitar/bass). "Fitzpleasure" is a song by British alternative indie pop quartet alt-J from their debut studio album. Music video A music video to accompany "Fitzpleasure" was released on YouTube on November 5, 2012, with a total length of three minutes and forty-one seconds. French director Emile Sornin created the music video to be all black and white clips. The clips show a rundown, large city filled with gangsters, an old man with a tongue for an eye, prosthetic limbs, an old man with two faces (one in front and the other in the back of the head), contorting gang-like dancers, and mobsters. Charlie Andrew
Charles Andrew, (born 1980) is a British record producer, mixer and songwriter. He is best known for his work with indie band Alt-J. In 2013 he was awarded 'Breakthrough Producer of the Year' by his peers at Music Producers Guild awards, in 2016 he won the 'Producer of the Year award' and in turn was awarded the Brit Award for 'British Producer of the Year'. He was included in the 2017 Debrett's 500. In 2016, Andrew announced the launch of his new record label and publishing ventures Square Leg Records & Big Tree Music with Swedish band Francobollo the first signing to both companies, in 2017 he signed singer-songwriter Sivu. Andrew also plays drums in the ''Laurel Collective'' and is part of the In the Woods Festival team. "Bloodflood" is the first single by English indie rock band alt-J released in October 2011 through Loud and Quiet Recordings on 7" vinyl as a double A-side single with "Tessellate".
