Mater (cars)
Sir Tow Mater, most commonly referred to as simply Mater, is a fictional character in the ''Cars'' media franchise produced by Pixar. Mater debuted as a major character in the film ''Cars'', as the local tow truck in Radiator Springs, eventually becoming the best friend of series protagonist Lightning McQueen. Following his initial appearance, Mater has become the secondary protagonist throughout the franchise and is generally seen as the series' breakout character, most apparent in his role as the main protagonist in '' Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales'' and ''Cars 2''. He is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy and visually inspired by a 1956–57 International Harvester Tow truck and 1955-1957 Chevrolet Task Force. ''Cars'' is a Computer-generated imagery, CGI-animated film series and Disney media franchise set in a world populated by anthropomorphic vehicles created by John Lasseter, Joe Ranft and Jorgen Klubien. The franchise began with the Cars (film), 2006 film of the same name, produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was followed by Cars 2, a sequel in 2011. Mater's Tall Tales
''Cars Toons'' is a television series of American computer-animated short films produced by Pixar. It features the main characters Lightning McQueen and Mater from Pixar's ''Cars'' franchise non-canonically in the original plot. Larry the Cable Guy reprises his role as Mater while Keith Ferguson replaces Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen until ''The Radiator Springs 500 ½'', when Wilson reprises his role. The series premiered on October 27, 2008 on both Disney Channel, Toon Disney and ABC Family. Not exclusive to television, the shorts were also released on home media and/or as theatrical shorts. The Kan-O-Tex Service Station in Galena, Kansas, is a souvenir shop and tourist attraction in the former Little's Service Station building, a Kan-O-Tex filling station that originally served U.S. Route 66 motorists in 1934. Baxter Springs is a city in Cherokee County, Kansas, United States, and located along Spring River. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 3,888. History For thousands of years, indigenous peoples had lived along the waterways throughout the west. The Osage migrated west from the Ohio River area of Kentucky, driven out by the Iroquois.
