''Master of Disguise'' is the fourth studio album by Los Angeles heavy metal band Lizzy Borden. The album was released in 1989 by Metal Blade Records and marked a different direction for the band. While still belonging to the glam metal genre, the album was a concept album also focused on theatrics, slower pieces, and dramatic themes. The album saw only founding members singer Lizzy Borden and drummer Joey Scott Harges return after the departure of long term guitarist Gene Allen. ''Master of Disguise'' would prove to be the band's highest moment as it would spend 10 weeks on the US Billboard 200 chart and peaking at No. 133. Many songs from the album would become staples of the songs live sets, including the title track, "Love Is a Crime", and "Sins of the Flesh." Lizzy Borden is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. To date, the band has charted on the ''Billboard'' 200 four times. Lizzy Borden is eponymous of the band's lead vocalist. History Early career (1983–1986) The band was founded in 1983 by brothers Lizzy Borden (born Gregory Charles Harges; June 23, 1960) and Joey Scott. The band got noticed after their song "Rod of Iron" featured on Metal Blade Records' '' Metal Massacre IV'' compilation LP. Brian Slagel (born February 14, 1961) is an American music executive. He is the founder and CEO of the independent record label Metal Blade Records. Slagel is known for having initiated the '' Metal Massacre'' series of compilation albums in 1982, the first of which included the first commercial recording by Metallica. Terry Brown is a British record producer involved in a variety of work. He has been noted for his involvement with the Canadian rock band Rush. Brown produced every album by the band from '' Fly by Night'' (1975) up to ''Signals'' (1982). He was also involved with the English pop rock band Cutting Crew, and the Canadian progressive rock band Klaatu. Joey Vera (born April 24, 1963) is an American bassist who is known as a member of the heavy metal band Armored Saint and progressive metal band Fates Warning. During 2004 and early 2005, he toured with Anthrax as a fill-in for Frank Bello, who had taken a break from the band. He was also a member of Engine, recorded with Tribe After Tribe, and appears on the OSI album '' Free''. His first solo album, ''A Thousand Faces'', was released in 1994.
