Massey University (soccer)
Massey University Football Club is an amateur football club in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Their top men's and top women's teams play in their respective Central Football Federation League. Their home ground is at the university campus. History Established in 1948, Massey spent their first few years playing in the local Manawatū league and University tournaments before they had a more established presence from 1970 onward. Traditionally the club had been for students and ex-students from the local Massey University, but they do welcome players that aren't associated with the University now. The club's best performing team has been the women's team from 2012 to 2015, who played in the Women's Central League, winning the league three times in a row in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Massey University ( mi, Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa) is a university based in Palmerston North, New Zealand, with significant campuses in Albany and Wellington. Massey University has approximately 30,883 students, 13,796 of whom are extramural or distance-learning students, making it New Zealand's second largest university when not counting international students. Capital Football is one of seven federations of New Zealand Football, representing the wider Wellington Region, including Hutt Valley, Wairarapa and Horowhenua-Kapiti. History Capital Football was first formed as Wellington Football Association (WFA) on 12 March 1890. Before the association was formed, teams had already been formed in Wellington, with the Wellington Rovers being the first formed on the 3 April 1889. The Kate Sheppard Cup, currently known as the New Zealand Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup for sponsorship purposes, is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in women's association football. Founded in 1994, it was known as the Women's Knockout Cup, until it was renamed in 2018. What would have been the 2020 edition of the competition, was cancelled because of COVID-19 but the competition continued again in 2021. Three Kings United
Three Kings United Football Club is a youth football club based in Three Kings, Auckland, New Zealand. They previously competed in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1, with their last appearance coming in 2019. In 2020, Three Kings United merged with Onehunga Sports to form Auckland United, which assumed Onehunga's position in the 2020 NRFL Premier season; the club's youth and social sectors remain in operation. Glenfield Rovers was a semi-professional football club based in Glenfield, New Zealand. The men's team competed in the NRFL Division 1 in 2020, having suffered relegation from the NRFL Premier in 2019. The women's team competed in the NRFL Women's Premier League, finishing 2nd with 40 points in the 2019 season. History In 1960 Glenfield Rovers began as the "Chelsea Sugar Refinery" football team. The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. History The Chatham Cup is contested by teams from throughout New Zealand, and has been held annually since 1923 with the exception of 1937 and 1941–44. 1986 Chatham Cup
The 1986 Chatham Cup was the 59th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. Up to the last 16 of the competition, the cup was run in three regions (northern, central, and southern). In a change to previous years, National League teams received a bye until Round Three (the final 64 stage) of the competition, one round earlier than previously. In all, 143 teams took part in the competition. Note: Different sources give different numberings for the rounds of the competition: some start round one with the beginning of the regional qualifications; others start numbering from the first national knock-out stage.
