Massachusetts House Of Representatives' 3rd Middlesex District
The Massachusetts 3rd General Court District (or "3rd Middlesex") is an electoral district for the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Located in central Massachusetts, it comprises the towns of Hudson, Maynard and Stow (all of which are located in Middlesex County), as well as the town of Bolton (located in Worcester County). Democrat Kate Hogan of Stow has represented the district since 2013. She is running unopposed for re-election in the 2020 Massachusetts general election. The current district geographic boundary overlaps with those of the Massachusetts Senate's Middlesex and Worcester district and Worcester and Middlesex district. Daily Kos ( ) is a group blog and internet forum focused on the U.S. Democratic Party and liberal American politics. The site includes glossaries and other content. Argeo Paul Cellucci (; April 24, 1948 – June 8, 2013) was an American politician and diplomat from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A Republican, he served as the 69th governor of Massachusetts from 1999 to 2001, and as the United States Ambassador to Canada from 2001 to 2005. He also served as the Commonwealth's 68th lieutenant governor from 1991 to 1999, as well as in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate from 1977 to 1991. When Bill Weld resigned in 1997 after being nominated for United States Ambassador to Mexico, Cellucci became acting governor. Charles F. Flaherty (born October 13, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts) is a U.S. politician who served as a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1967 to 1996. He was the House Majority Leader from 1985 to 1990 and the Speaker of the House from 1991 to 1996. In 1996, Flaherty agreed to plead guilty to felony tax evasion for submitting false receipts regarding his business expenses. Thomas Phillip "Tip" O'Neill Jr. (December 9, 1912 – January 5, 1994) was an American politician who served as the 47th speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 1987, representing northern Boston, Massachusetts, as a Democrat from 1953 to 1987.
