María José Castillo (born August 11, 1990) is a Costa Rican singer. She is best known for her participation in ''Latin American Idol''. On the show she ended as the runner-up, losing to Margarita Henríquez. Her debut album, "María José", was released on November 25, 2008. The album was successful, debuting on the Costa Rican Top 10 albums on position 5. Its lead single, "Abre Tu Corazón", entered the Costa Rican Top 40 at position 3. "Abre Tu Corazón" (Translated: ''Open Your Heart'') is the lead off single from María José Castillo's first studio album, María José. Background and promotion The single was set to be released on a CD single, but due to the failure of Castillo's "María José" internationally it was cancelled. The CD single was set to include the album version of the song, the instrumental version, the a cappella version, her second single "Vuela" and others. Even that the release was cancelled, a fan made version of the CD single is often found by fans. Castillo did not film any music video for the song, but fan-made videos using several live performances, mixes from public appearances, and her performances on Latin American Idol are available. Son by Four is a latin music group from Puerto Rico, well known for their English U.S. pop hit " The Purest of Pain (A Puro Dolor)". The group is now independent, as they founded their own label SB4 Music Group in 2003. Son by Four was created by Panamanian producer and songwriter Omar Alfanno and their members Ángel López, Pedro Quiles, and brothers Javier Montes and Jorge Montes. Fangoria are a Spanish electropop duo, consisting of Olvido Gara (a.k.a. Alaska, main vocals, occasional guitar), and Nacho Canut (keyboards, occasional bass guitar). Fangoria have sold 1 million records worldwide since 1989. History In 1977 Alaska, along with Nacho Canut and Carlos Berlanga, formed the band Alaska y los Pegamoides. Yuridia Valenzuela Canseco, commonly known as Yuri, (born, 6 January 1964) is a Mexican singer, actress and television host. Yuri began her career as a teenage singer in her native country. Mecano
Mecano was a Spanish pop band formed in 1981 and active until 1992. Mecano became one of the most successful Spanish pop bands of all time. The band is still the best-selling Spanish band, with over 25 million records worldwide.
