Maryland House Of Delegates District 31
Maryland's Legislative District 31 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers part of Anne Arundel County. Up until the 2020 United States redistricting cycle, the district was divided into two sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: District 31A and District 31B. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 140,611, of whom 109,551 (77.9%) were of voting age. The racial makeup of the district was 97,123 (69.1%) White, 20,581 (14.6%) African American, 606 (0.4%) Native American, 4,908 (3.5%) Asian, 64 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 6,027 (4.3%) from some other race, and 11,262 (8.0%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11,689 (8.3%) of the population. Anne Arundel County, Maryland
Anne Arundel County (; ), also notated as AA or A.A. County, is located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2020 United States census, its population was 588,261, an increase of just under 10% since 2010. Its county seat is Annapolis, which is also the capital of the state. The county is named for Lady Anne Arundell (c. 1615/1616–1649), a member of the ancient family of Arundells in Cornwall, England, and the wife of Cecilius Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore (1605–1675), founder and first lord proprietor of the colony Province of Maryland. Nic Kipke
Nicholaus Ryan Kipke (born January 26, 1979) is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates as of 2007 and from 2013 to 2021 served as Minority Leader. He is a Delegate representing Maryland District 31 including all of Pasadena, Brooklyn Park, and parts of Glen Burnie, Severna Park and Millersville. Personal life Kipke is a businessman, investor, and works as a Territory Manager for Reps and Associates, Inc., a manufacturers' representative firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. He is married to Susannah Warner Kipke, an employee of the National Rifle Association. They have three children. Kipke's first marriage, to Morgan Uebersax Kipke, ended in divorce in 2012. Steve Schuh
Steven R. Schuh (born July 25, 1960) is a former County Executive of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, serving two terms in the Maryland General Assembly representing District 31 (Pasadena, Glen Burnie, Brooklyn Park, Severna Park, and Millersville). Beginning in 2018, Schuh served as the Executive Director for the State of Maryland's Opioid Operational Command Center before assuming the role of Deputy Secretary for Health Care Financing and Medicaid in 2021. Schuh also played an instrumental role in the State's response to the pandemic serving as Section Chief for the Governor's COVID-19 Task Force. The Maryland Senate, sometimes referred to as the Maryland State Senate, is the upper house of the General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Maryland. Composed of 47 senators elected from an equal number of constituent single-member districts, the Senate is responsible, along with the Maryland House of Delegates, for passage of laws in Maryland, and for confirming executive appointments made by the Governor of Maryland.
