Carlos Marun
Carlos Eduardo Xavier Marun (born 21 November 1960 in Porto Alegre) is a Brazilian politician, member of the Chamber of Deputies, lawyer and civil engineer. He is part of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB). Currently, is Secretary of Government, nominated by president Michel Temer. While Eduardo Cunha was president of the Chamber of Deputies, Marun was one of his chief deputies in the chamber. He filled this position along with other deputies, such as Paulinho da Força, Waldir Maranhão and André Moura. During the session that later expelled the former president of the Chamber, he was the only one who defended Cunha from being expelled. After the session that archived the complaint against president Michel Temer, Marun danced saying that "everything is in its place, thank God", mentioning a song from Brazilian singer Benito di Paula, and that they "once again overcame the opposition, which can't win anything". Lujo Marun
Aloysius "Lujo" Marun (born Stipe Marun 11 December 1857 – 15 January 1939) was a Croatian Franciscan priest, who is known as the pioneer of Croatian archeology. Biography He was born as Stipe Marun in the town of Skradin, northern Dalmatia. After finishing primary school in Sinj, he went to Visovac Monastery where he studied to become a Franciscan, taking the monastic name Aloysius (shortened to Lujo). Even before entering the priesthood, Marun's teachers had instilled in him an awakened national consciousness which turned him to research Croatian monuments. He knew that the medieval Croatian kingdom was concentrated in northern Dalmatia, which would be where most of his life's work would take him. Although he was not trained in archeology, he nevertheless participated in excavations in Knin in the early 1880s, and eventually managed to get transferred there in 1885. He died in Knin in 1939. Nahim Marun is a Brazilian pianist. Education Marun’s principals piano teachers were the Brazilian pianist Isabel Mourao in São Paulo and the pianist Grant Johannesen in New York City, having completed a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City (under a CAPES scholarship). He received a Doctor of Music degree from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (under a FAPESP scholarship), with the thesis "The Piano Technique of Johannes Brahms", and pursued a Post-Doctorate at Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV). Marun Al Naqqash (Arabic: مارون النقاش) (1855–1817) was a Sidon-born Maronite who produced the first theatre play texts in Arabic language. Early life and education Al Naqqash was born in Sidon on 9 February 1817 into a Maronite family. In 1825 his family moved to Beirut where he studied Arabic language, literature in addition to law and foreign languages, including French, Italian and Turkish. He also involved in poetry, Oriental music and was educated as a bookkeeper. Career and activities Following the completion of his studies Al Naqqash began to work as a chief clerk at the customs department and became a member of the chamber of commerce in Beirut. He traveled to Damascus, Aleppo and Egypt for business. In 1846 he went to Italy where he was introduced the Italian theatre and opera.
