Martin Of Aragon (heir Of Sicily)
Martin (17/19 December 1406 – August 1407) was heir apparent to the throne of Sicily. He was a member of the House of Barcelona. Life He was the son and heir apparent of Martin I, King of Sicily. His mother was Blanche, who became Queen of Navarre in 1425. His parents got married on 26 November 1402. Queen Blanche's first pregnancy had ended in miscarriage. Nevertheless, the young queen's second pregnancy was successful, and he was born on 17 or 19 December 1406 in Sicily. He was baptized Martin after his father and grandfather, King Martin of Aragon, who informed the maternal grandfather, King Charles III of Navarre, of the birth. House Of Barcelona
The House of Barcelona was a medieval dynasty that ruled the County of Barcelona continuously from 878 and the Crown of Aragon from 1137 (as kings from 1162) until 1410. They descend from the Bellonids, the descendants of Wifred the Hairy. They inherited most of the Catalan counties by the thirteenth century and established a territorial Principality of Catalonia, uniting it with the Kingdom of Aragon through marriage and conquering numerous other lands and kingdoms until the death of the last legitimate male of the main branch, Martin the Humanist, in 1410. Violant of Bar (c. 1365 – 3 July 1431) was Queen of Aragon by marriage to John I of Aragon. She was active in matrimonial politics and served as "Queen-Lieutenant" (regent) of Aragon as proxy of her spouse from 1388 until 1395. Martin I of Sicily (c. 1374/1376 – 25 July 1409), called "The Younger", was King of Sicily from his marriage to Queen Maria in 1390 until his death. Martin's father was the future King Martin I of Aragon, and his grandparents were King Peter IV of Aragon and Eleanor of Sicily. In February 1390 he married Maria of Sicily, born in 1362/1363.
