Marriage (1954 Film)
''Marriage'' (Italian: ''Il matrimonio'') is a 1954 Italian historical comedy film directed by Antonio Petrucci and starring Vittorio De Sica, Silvana Pampanini and Alberto Sordi. It consists of three segments, based on three stage plays by Anton Chekhov. It was shot at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome. The film's sets were designed by the art director Gianni Polidori. Paolo Moffa
Paolo Moffa (16 December 1915 – 2004) was an Italian film director, producer and screenwriter. He directed seven films between 1943 and 1982. Born in Rome, Moffa started his career in the 1930s as a script supervisor. Mainly active as an executive producer, he was also second unit director for numerous films until 1958. Cinecittà Studios (; Italian for Cinema City Studios), is a large film studio in Rome, Italy. With an area of 400,000 square metres (99 acres), it is the largest film studio in Europe, and is considered the hub of Italian cinema. The studios were constructed during the Fascist era as part of a plan to revive the Italian film industry. Filmmakers such as Federico Fellini, Roberto Rossellini, Luchino Visconti, Sergio Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Mel Gibson have worked at Cinecittà. Maria Bice Valori (13 May 1927 – 17 March 1980) was an Italian actress, comedian and television and radio personality. Life and career Born in Rome, Valori studied at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduating in 1948.
