Markus Münch (footballer)
Markus Aarmin Münch (born 7 September 1972) is a German former footballer who played as a left-back or left midfielder. His professional career was mainly associated with Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Besiktas Istanbul and Panathinaikos. He is currently a racehorse trainer, owner and breeder based in Chantilly, France. Career Born in Nußloch, West Germany, Münch played as a youth for SV Sandhausen, before joining Bayern Munich as a 17-year-old in 1990. He made his debut for the club in March 1991, as a substitute for Christian Ziege in a European Cup match against FC Porto, and added two Bundesliga appearances under Jupp Heynckes before the end of the season as Bayern finished in second place. Nußloch
is a municipality in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis (Baden-Württemberg), about 10 km south of Heidelberg. It is on a much traveled tourist route: Bergstraße ("Mountain Road") and Bertha Benz Memorial Route. The hamlet Maisbach also belongs to Nußloch. History Nußloch was first mentioned on December 31, 766 in a deed of gift to the Lorsch Abbey. A married couple of strong faith donated a vineyard to the monastery from their property in Nußloch. It has been under the control of the Palatinate at the latest since 1269. The hamlet Maisbach was annexed April 1, 1937. Literally translated, the German name ''Nußloch'' means "Nut Hole". Christian Ziege
Christian Ziege (; born 1 February 1972) is a German football manager and former player. He most recently coached FC Pinzgau. A defender, he started his playing career at FC Bayern Munich, where he won two Bundesliga titles and a UEFA Cup before moving to A.C. Milan, winning an Italian ''Scudetto''. In 1999, he joined Middlesbrough of the English Premier League, where he was voted the club's Player of the Year in his only season. A year later, he joined Liverpool and was part of the squad which won a treble of the Football League Cup, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup in 2000–01. In 2001, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur, before ending his career back in Germany with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hans-Peter Briegel (born 11 October 1955) is a German former professional football player and manager who played as a defender or midfielder. One of the most popular German players in his days, Briegel's original sport was athletics, being successful in various events such as long jump (personal best: 7 metres 44 cm, aged 16), triple jump and specifically in heptathlon-forerunner pentathlon. Briegel also ran 100 metres in 10.81 seconds, aged 16. At the age of 17, he left athletics behind him, playing club football with hometown side SV Rodenbach near Kaiserslautern. Hans Pflügler
Johannes Christian "Hans" Pflügler (born 27 March 1960) is a German former professional footballer. He could operate as either a left-back or a central defender, and played solely for Bayern Munich, winning ten major titles and appearing in nearly 400 official games. Pflügler represented West Germany at the 1990 World Cup and Euro 1988, winning the former tournament. Jupp Heynckes
Josef "Jupp" Heynckes (; born 9 May 1945) is a German retired professional footballer and manager. The majority of his player career was as a striker for Borussia Mönchengladbach in its golden era of the 1960s and '70s, when they won many national championships and the DFB-Pokal, as well as the UEFA Cup. During this period the team played in its only European Cup final in 1977, losing to Liverpool. He is the fourth-highest goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga, with 220 goals. He was a member of the West Germany national team that won the UEFA Euro 1972 and the 1974 FIFA World Cup titles.
