Media Markt
Media Markt is a German multinational chain of stores selling consumer electronics with over 1000 stores in Europe. With chain of stores Saturn it constitutes Media-Saturn Holding, owned by the retail company Ceconomy, which was demerged from Metro Group in 2017. History Media Markt was founded by entrepreneurs Leopold Stiefel, Walter Gunz, Erich Kellerhals, and Helga Kellerhals. The first store opened on 24 November 1979 in Munich. By 1985, nine other stores had opened near Munich. In 1988 Kaufhof Warenhaus AG acquired a 54 percent majority in the holding company of the media stores founded in 1979. In 1989 expansion began in neighboring countries. Media Markt took over the competing retail chain Saturn in 1990, in which Kaufhof was already involved. Markt Schwaben
Markt Schwaben is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It lies roughly 23 km east of Munich on the northern edge of the Upper Bavarian district of Ebersberg. Neighbouring communities are Anzing, Forstinning, Pliening and Poing, (all in Ebersberg district) as well as Finsing, Ottenhofen and Pastetten (all in Erding district). Geography Through the town flows the Hennigbach, into which empties the Gigginger Bach southwest of Markt Schwaben. The River Sempt flows by to the east. The highest point in town is in the Wittelsbacher Höhe (heights) on the town's southern outskirts, which forms part of an alpine terminal moraine. Also in the south is the sport centre with its bathing pond. North of the railway tracks lie the Burgerfeld new town with its theatre hall, more housing estates and several commercial-industrial areas. Markt Indersdorf is a municipality in the district of Dachau in Bavaria in Germany. Geography Markt Indersdorf is located on the Glonn River. The Glonn divides the two main towns Markt Indersdorf and Kloster(monastery) Indersdorf. Markt Indersdorf is the largest town in the Dachau hinterland with a central location within the Dachau district. The closest villages are Langenpettenbach, Engelbrechtsmühle, Glonn, Karphofen, Strassbach, and Untermoosmühle. Other villages further out are Ainhofen, Eichstock, Langenpettenbach and Hirtlbach. History The area around Indersdorf has been inhabited by humans for thousands of years. Remains of Celtic/Vindelici structures near Arnzell (between Indersdorf and Altomünster) have been discovered. Hackescher Markt ("Hacke's Market") is a square in the central Mitte locality of Berlin, Germany, situated at the eastern end of Oranienburger Strasse. It is an important transport hub and a starting point for the city's nightlife. The Wiener Markt is a daily food market in Haidhausen, a district of Munich. The market at Wiener Platz forms the centre of the district of Haidhausen. The Markt (Dutch for "Market") is the central square of Bruges, West Flanders, Belgium. It is located in the heart of the city and covers an area of about . Some historical highlights around the Markt include the 12th-century Belfry and the Provincial Court (originally the Waterhall, which in 1787 was demolished and replaced by a classicist building, which from 1850, served as provincial court, and after a fire in 1878, was rebuilt in a neo-Gothic style in 1887). In the centre of the square stands a statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck. The Markt was completely renovated in 1995–96.
