The Tomlab years (2002–10) Mantler's second album, ''Sadisfaction,'' was released on Germany's Tomlab label in October 2002. Diamond Violence
''Diamond Violence'' is the tenth album by Canadian music artist Marker Starling (Chris A. Cummings), released in early 2023. A fusion of funk, soul and indie pop, it was produced by Zack G., who worked on previous projects by Cummings, as well as with Ben Gunning. Featured on the album is vocal work by Dorothea Paas and trombone by the legendary Arthur Russell collaborator Peter Zummo. Bill Pearis of the Brooklyn Vegan wrote in his review: "Chris A Cummings sings over the silkiest of disco backing layered with sweet harmonies, synthy strings, Chic-esque guitar and a groovy bassline, all while he notes “crumpled pages” are “piling up tenfold” and “failure counts just as much as every step forward.” It's a grim portrait of an artist, but Cummings, as Marker Starling, specializes in just these kind of “melancholy party jams.”" Music Tribune Tokyo wrote: "...it is worth noting that Cummings has created songs that value the gentle elements of his songwriting, su ...

I'm Willing (Marker Starling Album)
''I'm Willing'' is the sixth album by Canadian music artist Marker Starling (Chris A. Cummings), released in 2016 in Europe and in 2017 in North America. It is a collection of cover versions. Limiting himself to a much pared-down instrumentation in contrast to 2015's ''Rosy Maze'', Cummings recorded the album in a very short time in Paris, which he feels helped the creative process retain a vibrancy necessary to the project. Having Lætitia Sadier of Stereolab contributing vocals also helped him achieve the ambiance he strove to create as the album has a recurring theme of love and affection. The cross-section of songs covered ranges from highly regarded classics to little known gems that Cummings discovered over the years as an ardent vinyl collector. Track listing Side 1 # Stormy (Dennis Yost, J.R. Cobb, Buddy Buie) (3:31) # A Perfect Day ( Bobby Cole) (3:36) # I'm Willing (Tommy Keith, Arthur Cole) (3:44) # For Real (Richard Elijah Flowers) (4:13) # Amsterdam (John Cale) ...
