Mark Williams (Australian Footballer Born 1964)
Mark P. Williams (born 18 March 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton Football Club, Carlton and Western Bulldogs, Footscray in the Australian Football League, Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Before starting his VFL career, Williams played at Fawkner and then St Mark's, where he was recruited from. A small forward, he never made more than five appearances in a season for Carlton. He spent most of his time in the reserves and was a member of their 1986 and 1987 reserves premiership teams. Williams, whose father John Williams (Australian rules footballer, born 1940), John also played with Carlton, was let go by his club and picked up by Footscray at the 1989 VFL Draft, 1989 Pre-Season Draft. He starred on his debut, against his former club in the opening round of the 1989 VFL season with 35 disposals but only played two seasons. 1988 VFL Draft
The 1988 VFL draft, held on the 9th of November 1988, was the third annual national draft held by the VFL/AFL, Victorian Football League (now known as the Australian Football League). It consisted of a pre-season draft and a national draft. In 1988 there were 112 picks to be drafted between 14 teams in the national draft. The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston, Victoria, Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It plays its home games at the Preston City Oval. The club was established in 1882 as the Preston Football Club. The club participated in the Victorian Football League, Victorian Football Association (VFA) between 1903 and 1911, and then since 1926. Gary Brice (born 7 October 1948) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the VFL during the 1970s. A solidly built wingman who could play at half forward, Brice started his career at Port Melbourne in the Victorian Football Association, before being recruited by South Melbourne in 1970. After 171 games at South, he returned to Port Melbourne as captain-coach in 1980, and coached there until 1983, leading the club to three successive premierships from 1980 until 1982. He returned for one further year as coach in 1985, and he was the coach of the Association's representative team from 1982 until 1985 – including in 1984, when he was a specialist coach at in the VFL. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL).
