Mark Rutherford (composer)
Mark Joseph Rutherford is a London born musician, composer and producer whose work appears on records, video games, television programmes, commercials and feature films. Early years From the age of nine, Rutherford studied classical guitar and classical music theory, learning the Segovia Technique under the guidance of tutor Leslie Nicholls (LGSM BA Hons), a former pupil of the highly acclaimed Professor Adele Kramer. He also learned to play the piano while studying composition and classical music history. Records Rutherford was a guitarist and songwriter with Jimmy The Hoover. The band, managed by Malcolm McLaren. had a top 20 hit, and toured with bands such as Siouxsie and the Banshees and Bow Wow Wow. He then travelled to Central and Eastern Africa, spending a year and a half living with, and recording, native tribes people. Hale White
William Hale White (22 December 183114 March 1913), known by his pseudonym Mark Rutherford, was a British writer and civil servant. His obituary in ''The Times'' stated that the "employment of a pseudonym, and sometimes of two (for some of 'Mark Rutherford's' work was 'edited by his friend, Reuben Shapcott'), was sufficient to prove a retiring disposition, and Mr. Hale White was little before the world in person." Life, career and memorials White was born in Bedford. His father, William White, a member of the Nonconformist community of the Bunyan Meeting, became well known as a doorkeeper at the House of Commons and wrote sketches of parliamentary life for the ''Illustrated Times''. Mark Rutherford (born 25 March 1972) is an English former footballer. Career Rutherford was once on the England under-18 squad alongside Chris Sutton, Steve McManaman and Andy Cole. Rutherford scored the winning goal on his League of Ireland debut for Shels on 4 October 1991 at Tolka Park. He is one of the select group of players to have played for all of Dublin's Big 4 clubs – Shelbourne, Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers, St. Patrick's Athletic. His previous clubs include Shrewsbury Town, Birmingham City F.C., Newry Town and Longford Town. Rutherford's successful career includes 3 League of Ireland championships, 4 FAI Cups and 1 English 3rd Division championship. He was also an FAI Cup runner up on 5 occasions. Rutherford scored three goals for Shelbourne in European competition.
