The Iowa Hawkeyes are the athletic teams that represent the University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, Iowa. The Hawkeyes have varsity teams in 22 sports, 8 for men and 14 for women; a 15th women's sport will be added in 2023. The teams participate in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are members of the Big Ten Conference. Currently, the school's athletic director is Gary Barta. Historically, Iowa has been very successful in wrestling, with 37 team Big Ten championships and 24 team national championships. Mark Perry (English Footballer)
Mark James Perry (born 19 October 1978, in Ealing) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Queens Park Rangers at right back and in midfield. Perry made his debut for Queens Park Rangers as a 17-year-old in September 1996, in a 3–1 win against Barnsley at Oakwell. He scored from a header on debut, which proved to be the only goal of his senior career. He played 75 games in all competitions before a knee injury forced his retirement at the age of only 23. Perry also played for the England national under-18 football team. Mark George Perry (born 7 February 1971) is a Scottish retired footballer who played professionally as a defender for Dundee United, Aberdeen, Ross County and Peterhead in the Scottish Football League and Scottish Premier League, as well as for Cove Rangers and Keith at Highland League level. Playing career Born in Aberdeen, Mark Perry began his senior career with Cove Rangers in the Highland Football League. In August 1988, Scottish Football League Premier Division club Dundee United signed him for a £3000 transfer fee. After spending four seasons playing in the youth and reserve teams and being transfer listed in April 1992, he made his competitive first team debut in a Premier Division match against Aberdeen in December 1992.
