Mark Nicholls (footballer)
Mark Nicholls (born 30 May 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker from 1994 until 2012, most notably in the Premier League for Chelsea. He was assistant to Neil Shipperley at North Greenford United before the pair left after the 2011–12 season. He then returned with Shipperley to North Greenford United in October 2012 after Jon-Barrie Bates left by mutual consent. He also played in the Football League for Reading, Grimsby Town, Colchester United and Torquay United, as well as playing in the Scottish Football League for Partick Thistle, Hamilton Academical and Clydebank. Playing career Chelsea Nicholls was born in Hillingdon, London. A forward, he began his career as a trainee with Chelsea, turning professional in August 1995. Mark Nicholls (born 5 January 1990) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Dolphins in the NRL. He previously played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Canberra Raiders and the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League. Background Nicholls was born into a family in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. He played his junior rugby league for the Leeton Greenies and Gungahlin Bulls, before being signed by the Canberra Raiders. Playing career Early career From 2008 to 2010, Nicholls played for the Canberra Raiders' NYC team. Marcus Frederick Nicholls (13 July 1901 – 10 June 1972), generally known as Mark Nicholls, was a New Zealand rugby union player and selector. He played for New Zealand—the All Blacks—as well as Wellington and the North Island. A member of the legendary 1924–25 All Black " Invincibles", Nicholls was best known as a first five-eighth though he actually played many games, including Tests, at either second-five eighth or centre.
