Mark Kaplan (musician)
Mark Kaplan (born 30 December 1953, in Cambridge, Massachusetts) is an American violinist who studied at the Juilliard School under Dorothy DeLay. He is currently a professor at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. Before teaching at Indiana, Kaplan taught at UCLA in California. Kaplan has performed in all the principal cities of Europe, including London, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Zürich, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Milan, as well as the Far East and Australia. In the United States he has played with nearly every major orchestra, including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, D.C., as well as Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Houston Symphony. Mark Kaplan (born 20 December 1967) is a South African tennis player. The right-hander reached his highest ATP singles ranking of 117 on 25 June 1990. He also reached a career high doubles ranking of 219. In college his doubles partner was Richard Lubner Richard Lubner (born 1967) is a South African former professional tennis player.
