Mark Irwin
Mark Irwin (born August 7, 1950) is a Canadian cinematographer. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and studied political science at the University of Waterloo and filmmaking at York University. He is widely known for his early collaborations with David Cronenberg on films such as ''Fast Company'', ''Scanners'', ''Videodrome'', '' The Dead Zone'', and '' The Fly''. Irwin has also been a main collaborator for several directors such as Wes Craven, Todd Phillips and The Farrelly brothers. He has worked primarily in the genres of horror and comedy film. He is a four-time recipient of the C.S.C. Award for Best Cinematography in a Theatrical Feature, and a Genie Award nominee. Mark Irwin (born 1952) is an American poet. He is the author of eleven collections of poetry, most recently ''Joyful Orphan'' (University of Nevada Press). His honors and awards include the Philip Levine Prize for Poetry, The Nation/Discovery Award, four Pushcart Prizes, a National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Fellowship, Colorado and Ohio Art Council Fellowships, two Colorado Book Awards, the James Wright Poetry Award, and fellowships from the Fulbright, Lilly, and Wurlitzer Foundations. Career He attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop (MFA, 1980) and Case Western Reserve University (PhD, 1982). Mark Irwin (rugby Union)
Mark William Irwin (10 February 1935 – 30 June 2018) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A prop, Irwin represented , , and at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1955 to 1960. He played 25 matches for the All Blacks including seven internationals. Born in Gisborne, Irwin was educated at Wanganui Collegiate School where he was head boy, and played in the 1st XV rugby team from 1950 to 1952. He went on to study medicine at the University of Otago, graduating MB ChB in 1961. An accomplished rower, Irwin was in the eight nominated to represent New Zealand at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne; however, the crew did not make final selection.
