Leslie Mark Hughes (born 1 November 1963) is a Welsh football coach and former player who is the manager of Bradford City. During his playing career he usually operated as a forward or midfielder. He had two spells at Manchester United, and also played for Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as well as the English clubs Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers. He made 72 appearances for Wales scoring 16 goals. He won a host of winners' medals during his playing career, including two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and two UEFA Cup Winners' Cups. He also collected an FA Cup runners-up medal and a League Cup runners-up medal. Hughes was the first player to win the PFA Players' Player of the Year award twice, in 1989 and 1991. Mark Anthony Hughes (born 16 September 1983) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He was most recently manager of King's Lynn Town. Club career Hughes was born in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. He started his career at Tottenham Hotspur, coming through their youth system and breaking into the reserve side. Midway through the 2003–04 season he was loaned out to Oldham Athletic where he impressed sufficiently to be signed permanently for a nominal fee. He played a little over one season at Oldham before new boss John Sheridan decided he was surplus to requirements and terminated his contract. At Oldham he scored his first career goal in a 4–3 win over Bristol City. Mark Anthony Hughes (born 9 December 1986) is an English former professional footballer who is assistant manager at Plymouth Argyle. An Everton academy graduate, Hughes also played for clubs Northampton Town, Walsall, North Queensland Fury, Bury and Morecambe. Mark Stephen Hughes (born 6 August 1954) is an English-born Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played for Canterbury-Bankstown in the 1970s and 1980s. Mark Hughes (born October 5, 1966, in Muskegon, Michigan) is an American former professional basketball player, coach, and is the current Assistant General Manager of the Los Angeles Clippers. Hughes was a star at Reeths-Puffer High School in Muskegon, Michigan where he led the Rockets to the Class B State Semifinal in 1985. Hughes also ended up earning First team All State honors. He has played collegiately for University of Michigan (1985–89) and was a co-captain of the 1989 NCAA Championship team. On the professional level, he had signed with the Detroit Pistons (1991) and Toronto Raptors (1996) in the National Basketball Association. Mark Hughes has worked in professional motorsport for over 20 years having started in the UK with rallying before moving to circuit racing and circuit operations. Career Hughes' first senior management position was as operations manager at Brands Hatch, then part of the Octagon Motorsport group which ran Silverstone, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton as well. Hughes primarily oversaw the operation of the circuit but also the rally and race schools and all corporate products. William Mark Hughes (18 December 1932 – 19 March 1993) was a Labour politician and an economic historian. Hughes was Member of Parliament for Durham from 1970 to 1983, and the (slightly renamed) City of Durham from 1983 to 1987, when he stood down. From 1975 to 1979, he was also appointed a Member of the European Parliament as part of the Labour delegation. Hughes grew up in Durham, where his father was Professor of History. He attended Durham School then won a scholarship to Balliol College, Oxford, graduating in 1956. He followed this with a PhD at King's College, Durham (now Newcastle University) in 1958, where he remained as the Sir James Knott Research Fellow until 1960.
