Mark Duncan (regent)
Mark Duncan (1570?–1640) was a Scottish regent of the University of Saumur. Life Duncan was the son of Thomas Duncan of Maxpoffle, Roxburghshire, by Janet, daughter of Patrick Oliphant of Sowdoun in the same county, is supposed to have been born about 1570, and to have been educated partly in Scotland and partly on the continent. He certainly took the degree of M.D., but at what university is not known. From Philippe de Mornay, Duplessis-Mornay, he was appointed governor of Saumur by Henry IV of France, Henry IV in 1589; he received the post of professor of philosophy in the University of Saumur, of which he subsequently became regent. Duncan is said to have been versed in mathematics and theology, as well as in philosophy, and to have acquired such a reputation for medical skill that James I of England, James I offered him the post of physician in ordinary at the English court, and even forwarded to him the necessary patent; but to have declined the royal invitation out of ...

Mark Duncan De Cérisantis
Mark Duncan de Cérisantis (died 1648) was a Scots-descended French and Swiss diplomat, before becoming secretary to Henry II, Duke of Guise. Biography De Cérisantis was the eldest son, Mark Duncan (1570?–1640), was for a time tutor to the Marquis de Faure, and was employed by Richelieu in certain negotiations at Constantinople in 1641; but in consequence of a quarrel with M. de Caudale was compelled to leave France, and entered the Swedish service. De Cérisantis returned to France as the Swedish ambassador resident in 1645. The Dogs D'Amour
The Dogs D'Amour are an English bluesey hard rock band formed in London in 1983. Over the years the band has had various line-ups, the only constant being vocalist Tyla. Their music has been described as a mixture of the Rolling Stones, the Faces and glam punk. Their 1989 release, '' A Graveyard of Empty Bottles'', reached No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart while the single "Satellite Kid" reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1991, the band broke up onstage, before reforming briefly in the early 1990s for the release of their sixth studio album '' More Unchartered Heights of Disgrace''. After this, however, the most famous incarnation of the band ceased to exist. Prayer for Cleansing was an American metalcore band from Raleigh, North Carolina. The band is noted for their extreme metal (death/black metal) influence that was a little more prominent in their music than other metalcore bands at the time. They are also notable for being an early musical starting point for three members of Between the Buried and Me (Paul Waggoner, Will Goodyear and Tommy Giles Rogers) who played in the band. Biography The band, consisting of David Anthem (vocals), Paul Waggoner (guitar), Dennis Lamb (guitar), Will Goodyear (drums) and Marc Duncan (bass) formed in 1996, going through numerous member changes up until 1997. The Rockingbirds
The Rockingbirds are a British country rock band, formed in London in 1990. They disbanded in 1995, but reformed in 2008 for the Heavenly Records 18th-anniversary shows. They began to tour again in spring 2009 and played the 2009 Glastonbury festival. Mark C. Duncan (born c. 1919) is a former American football player, coach, and administrator, and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach and the interim head basketball coach at the University of Denver in 1943. Duncan later embarked on a career in the National Football League (NFL). He was as an assistant coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 1955 to 1962. In 1964, Duncan was named the NFL's supervisor of officials, and three years later, he was named the League's director of personnel. The Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland announced on 3 November 2005 that Scotland would be sending 166 athletes (104 men and 62 women) to compete in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, supported by 70 officials. This is a smaller team than the country fielded at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England, when Scotland sent 207 athletes and 85 officials, winning 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 16 Bronze medals. The main team's departure was on 28 February 2006 from Glasgow Airport flying with Emirates Airlines, one of the team's main sponsors. Other sources of financial support are the Clydesdale Bank, sportscotland, the Commonwealth Games Endowment fund, and the Scottish general public.
