Mark Dean (computer Scientist)
Mark E. Dean (born March 2, 1956) is an American inventor and computer engineer. He developed the ISA bus, and he led a design team for making a one-gigahertz computer processor chip. He holds three of nine PC patents for being the co-creator of the IBM personal computer released in 1981. In 1995, Dean was named the first ever African-American IBM Fellow. Dean was elected as a member into the National Academy of Engineering in 2001 for innovative and pioneering contributions to personal computer development. In August 2011, writing in his blog, Dean stated that he now uses a tablet computer instead of a PC. Early life Dean was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Dean displayed an affinity for technology and invention at a young age. When Mark was young, he and his dad constructed a tractor from scratch. Mark Dean (footballer)
Mark Dean (born 18 November 1964) is an English former professional footballer who played in The Football League for Chester. He later played for hometown club Northwich Victoria in the Conference National. Playing career A full back, Dean was a product of Chester's youth policy and broke into the first–team ranks near the end of 1981–82 as a 17-year-old. He made his professional debut in Chester's 2–1 defeat by Brentford on 24 April 1982Sumner (1997), stats section (season 81-82) and ended the season with four league outings to his name. Earlier in the season he had been part of the Chester youth side which took Sunderland to a replay in the FA Youth Cup. The following season saw Dean make 19 league starts and appear twice as a substitute. But he was one of eight players released by manager John Sainty at the end of the season as the club halved its wage bill. Mark John Dean (born October 13, 1967) is an American former competition swimmer and Pan American Games gold medalist. Mark Dean (American Football)
Mark Dean (October 20, 1917 – April 5, 2006) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Austin Junior College (1946–1947), Superior State Teacher's College (1948–1950) and Indiana State University (1951–1954, 1956). Playing career Dean played football as a halfback at Northern Illinois University from 1935 through 1937; in addition, he spent one season as a member of the Huskies JV basketball team. Coaching career Dean began his coaching career in 1938 in West Des Moines, Iowa; after four years, he then moved on to Roodhouse High School in Roodhouse, Illinois, tallying a mark of 8–0, winning the 1942 conference title. He moved on to Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Illinois for the 1943 season and led the Crimson to a record of 4–4–1.
