Mark Cross (born 1955, Auckland), is a contemporary artist and painter from New Zealand. His works are held in museums and galleries in New Zealand. Early life and career Mark Cross was born in 1955 in Auckland. He started his painting career when he was in his twenties. At the age of 23, he moved with his family to Liku, Niue. In order to find a market for his work, he returned to New Zealand in 1982. Employing elements of the natural landscape, foreshore imagery and the human figure, his artwork imparts an ecological message regarding the human condition and its relationship with the environment. In collaboration with other artists, he founded the Hikulagi Sculpture Park in Niue's rainforest in 1996. In collaboration with the author Brad Matsen, he co-authored the book ''Have We Offended?'', a collection of Mark Cross' work, produced by the John Leech Gallery. Mark Cross (23 July 1956 – 1 May 2018) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Cross, who was aged just 17 on his league debut, came from West Footscray. A rover, he made four appearances for Footscray, from rounds 15 to 18 in the 1974 VFL season.''The Age''"Footscray prunes with heavy shears" 29 October 1974, p. 15 He was cut from Footscray's list at the end of the year. From 1975 to 1979, Cross played for Williamstown in the Victorian Football Association. Mark Cross is an English hard rock and heavy metal drummer. He has played in many bands in his career and is currently based in Athens, Greece. Mark recorded in 1992 an album with Greek singer/songwriter Michalis Rakintzis named "Etsi Maresei". Cross left Helloween in 2002. He had recorded two tracks with them, both of which featured on their ''Rabbit Don't Come Easy'' album in 2003. His comeback was a low-key demo recording with The Supremacy, a project band also featuring Bill Hudson of Cellador and Fernando Giovannetti of Aquaria in 2004. In 2005 he featured as a session and touring musician for At Vance and also appeared on the British rock band Saracen's latest album, ''Vox in Excelso'' and Winter's Bane's comeback album, '' Redivivus''. Archibald Thomas Pechey
Archibald Thomas Pechey (26 September 1876 in West Ham, Essex – 29 November 1961 in Wells, Somerset, England) often credited as Valentine, was an English lyricist and novelist. The pen name Valentine was derived from his mother's family the Vallentins, who were London distillers. Pechey's maternal grandfather Sir James Vallentin (1814–1870) was Knight Sheriff of London, and Master of the Worshipful Company of Distillers. By the 1880s Pechey's uncle Grimble Vallentine was running the business in Lambeth. His cousin John Franks Vallentin (1882–1914) was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1914. Pechey as "Valentine" often wrote lyrics in conjunction with composer James W. Tate, including for ''The Beauty Spot''. Songs written by Tate and Valentine (with F. Rotherfield is a village and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the Wealden District, Wealden District of East Sussex, England. It is one of the largest parishes in East Sussex. There are three villages in the parish: Rotherfield, Mark Cross and Eridge.
