Mark Bridges, 3rd Baron Bridges
Mark Thomas Bridges, 3rd Baron Bridges, KCVO (born 25 July 1954) is the solicitor to, among others, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, the Princess Royal and the Duchy of Lancaster. He is the son of Thomas Edward Bridges, 2nd Baron Bridges. He was educated at Eton College, Berkshire and at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He became the 3rd Baron Bridges on the death of his father in 2017. He currently works for Farrer & Co, a solicitor's firm in London which was founded by his grandmother's great-grandfather. He is married to Angela Margaret Collinson and has four children of whom three living. Bridges was appointed Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in the 2012 New Year Honours for his work as personal solicitor to the Queen., being advanced Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the 2019 New Year Honours. Mark Bridges is an American costume designer. He has frequently collaborated with Paul Thomas Anderson for each of his films. Bridges has been nominated four times for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design, winning two for '' The Artist'' (2011) and ''Phantom Thread'' (2017). For the latter, he won a Jet Ski and a stay in Lake Havasu City, Arizona resort, as a part of the Academy Awards telecast stunt to award the Oscar recipient who gave the shortest acceptance speech. His other awards include two BAFTA Awards for Best Costume Design for his designs for ''The Artist'' and ''Phantom Thread''. Personal life Bridges was born in Niagara Falls, New York. He was a student for the theater club at La Salle High School. Bridges studied theater at Niagara County Community College and received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from Stony Brook University in 1983.
